When a highly successful barrister and their family are mysteriously killed in their London home, Detective Jake Tanner is unexpectedly called to the scene. Inexperienced and out of his depth - and away from his desk - Jake soon learns there are more layers to the murders than he first thought. 

As he and his veteran colleague, Detective Ashley Rivers, delve deeper into the high-profile case, they are faced with another challenge: the eldest daughter of the barrister has gone missing. And if they want her back, there’s a fee to pay.
