So, it's been a while since I last gave an update on my progress with the next Jake Tanner book.
A lots been going on - University reading and essays, editing, working, writing. A whole heap of stuff.
But, I've been making some headway with the first full-length novel in the Jake Tanner series. I have now finally settled on a title that I'm 80% happy with. Although, with each day that number increases.
And that title is:
Cool, huh? How does it sound? Does it make you intrigued?
It certainly does me!
Now that I've got that settled and out of the way, I've managed to get myself an editor. The manuscript was sent off earlier this month and hopefully by the end of the month I'll have the whole thing returned to me.
It's an exciting prospect, but also quite a daunting one. It means that something who knows what they're doing and what they're talking about is going to be scrutinising my entire work. I hope it doesn't come back with too many edits and revisions.
Although, it's not a bad thing if it does - it means that it'll be a better novel for it.
The dream is for it to be a bestseller. Why not help me on the way, and wait until early 2018 until you can grab a copy.
All that I need to do now is get the book cover designed and come up with the blurb, then I'll be all sorted.
Over the past couple of days I’ve managed to craft a beta blurb. Although, if you want to see it then you’ll have to wait.
For the cover of Standstill I’m thinking I’m going to go for something similar to James Patterson’s Alex Cross novels, with the silhouette comprising the majority of the cover, and then have other images that are related to the novel within the silhouette. Obviously, things may change.
But, over the next few weeks, it’s going to be quite exciting times, and there is a lot to look forward to!
